Is the Argus BedWatch watching me?

The Argus BedWatch does not watch you as there is no camera attached anywhere. It monitors   and records only the variables important for ensuring your environmental and physical wellbeing. 

Do I need to take out a SIM contract?

The Argus BedWatch monthly fee includes all costs associated with communications.  You don’t have to worry about getting your own SIM, cellular contract or topping up your data.  Leave this up to us, we’ll take care of it!

Can it shock me?

The Argus BedWatch runs on a very low voltage, approximately the same as three penlight batteries, making it safe to use.

I don’t have Wi-Fi. Will the Argus BedWatch still work?

Yes, the Argus BedWatch sends messages from the bedroom to the central monitoring server directly over the GSM cellular network. 

How do I know that my information is safe?

All information in the Argus BedWatch system encrypted, whether it is being transmitted, stored or viewed.  The dashboard is password controlled – you decide who has access the your residents.

We take data security seriously.

What should I do in the case of an emergency?

The Argus BedWatch is currently not connected to any 24 response units.  In the case of emergency, it is important that you continue to handle these according to your current processes.

Is the Argus BedWatch watching me?

The Argus BedWatch does not watch you as there is no camera attached anywhere. It monitors   and records only the variables important for ensuring your environmental and physical wellbeing. 

Can it detect a fall?

In order to ensure that the Argus BedWatch is as non-intrusive as possible, there are no components that are worn on the individual. As such, it cannot directly detect a fall. However, if you have the Premium Argus unit, it is possible to pick up a potential fall situation through responses received from the various other sensors as we monitor the environment. For example, if there is no-one in the bed, the door is closed and no motion in the room.

Will the Argus BedWatch work on a double bed?

The Argus BedWatch BedStrap works best when used on a single bed with a single occupant.  Certain readings may be skewed if it is placed on a bed with more than one occupant. 

Is the Argus BedWatch a medical device?

No, Argus BedWatch is not a medical device. The Argus BedWatch unit is designed to monitor the environment around those you care for. It is not a medical monitoring device. Please consult a medical professional for all medical concerns.

What happens if I miss a subscription payment?

Our credit control department will be in contact with you to make arrangements for payment.  If payment is not received within 30 days of the due date, we will suspend your dashboard access.  If we have not received your payment within 60 days of the due date.  We will remove your user and purge all your data.

Please note that a reactivation fee may be applicable.

Will the Argus BedWatch still function if the person being monitored is under or over weight?

The Argus BedWatch works optimally for an individual weighing between 30kg and 130kg.

Is the Argus BedWatch waterproof?

The Argus BedWatch Unit and the Argus BedStrap are water-resistant, they can withstand the occasional accidental splash of water, but should never be fully submerged. 

What should I do if I suspect something is wrong with my Argus BedWatch?

Check if the Argus unit is plugged in and has power.

Check if the BedStrap magnet is secured correctly.

Check if your Argus is green on the dashboard.

I have incorrectly set up customised alerts. How easy are these to change?

All thresholds are customisable and easy to change anytime you wish.  Simply log onto the dashboard as the administrator and update the thresholds.

What happens to the Argus BedWatch in the case of a power or cellular coverage issues?

We recommend that you switch to manual monitoring during these situations. In the case of a power failure, the Argus BedWatch will switch to battery backup. This is limited dependant on the age of the battery, but is guaranteed to last at least 2 hours. In the case of cellular outage, the central system will send a message, after not receiving a reading for 4 hours, to inform you that it is no longer receiving messages from the unit in the room to prompt you to switch to manual monitoring processes.

How do I test that my Argus BedWatch is functional?

The easiest way to test the Argus BedWatch is to:

Check if the Argus unit is plugged in and has power.

Check if the BedStrap magnet is secured correctly.

Check if your Argus is green on the dashboard.

For a Standard Argus Unit you can lay on the BedStrap and get out of bed.

For a Premium Argus Unit you can lay on the BedStrap and get out of bed, also open and close a door being monitored.

You should see the graph update within 5 minutes.

Can the Argus BedWatch work with my existing panic button system?

The Argus BedWatch is currently not linked to a panic button.

I no longer need my Argus BedWatch. Can I return it?

Absolutely.  If you no longer need the Argus BedWatch unit, please contact us at support@bedwatch.io and we will contact you to arrange a buy back assessment.

What is the warrantee of the Argus BedWatch Unit?

The Argus BedWatch comes with a 1 year warranty on all components. If the Product is faulty, you must return the Product with the original package for inspection. If a latent defect is found on the Product, you will be entitled to a replacement product or a full refund.
